Screening for Plagiarism
Green Construction Journal (GCJ) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. To ensure that all published articles meet ethical publication requirements, every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a plagiarism screening process prior to peer review.
The journal utilizes Turnitin Similarity Check as its primary plagiarism detection tool to assess the originality of submitted manuscripts. The similarity report generated by Turnitin is carefully evaluated by the editorial team, taking into account legitimate citations, references, quotations, and commonly used technical terminology. A high similarity score does not automatically indicate plagiarism; therefore, each report is reviewed contextually and professionally.
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references, bibliography, and properly quoted material) may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the discretion of the editorial board. Cases involving plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, or other forms of academic misconduct will be handled in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Green Construction Journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward unethical publication practices and reserves the right to reject, retract, or take corrective actions against manuscripts that violate publication ethics standards.
Additional Note for Authors
Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct plagiarism checks prior to submission and ensure that all borrowed ideas, data, figures, tables, and textual materials are properly cited.
